Our 18K Victorian buckle ring is hallmarked for the Chester guild and made in the year 1915. We can determine that accurately because of the clear set of hallmarks on our polished and well proportioned wide band buckle ring. The ring additionally has two star set cushion cut diamonds set flush with the band. This durable and sturdy design makes our ring wearable for hand washing and most daily activities.
Buckle rings were popular in the Victorian era. As it was the Queen's order, Victoria wore the symbol of the garter in the form of a buckle bracelet or buckle ring on her arm, as she obviously could not show the garter on her leg. The garter symbolizes fidelity and eternal love. The ring is almost 1/2 of an inch in width, size US 9 and weighs 9 grams.
