This unusual mid nineteenth century Gold and Silver Diamond Cluster ring has it all! Our diamond cluster ring has diamonds of different cut stones; the outer and middle circular layers have 18 and 9 mine cut diamonds, respectively, which surround the large center rose cut diamond. The center rose cut diamond is set elevated from the other 2 layers of diamonds, a detail clearly meant to help the diamond take center stage. The emphasis is on the diamonds, set a jour, or "open to the day". The diamonds are backed in silver, a design detail that was thought in its day to better set off the diamond's naturally cool tones. The gold work on this ring is an equally beguiling design feature with the carved leaves on the sides. Another unusual detail: there are 2 perfect open-work triangles cut out of each side, again, cut a jour, or open to the day. This unusual gold work is shown in the photos. This ring can be worn everyday and is perfectly scaled to suit most sized hands. The outer and middle surrounding diamonds are rose cuts with a total weight of 80 points. The center diamond is a cushion cut of .65 points. Total weight of the diamonds is 1.45 carats. Color is H-I. Clarity VS
