Diamond Emerald Amethyst Ruby Emerald Sapphire Tourmaline spells out DEAREST.
These are the gemstones in our charming flower cluster ring, marked 18C on the inside band. The letter d references the center diamond and each gem spells out DEAREST in a radial formation with the next letter,
the e, the emerald and clockwise about the cluster and ending with tourmaline.
How the Victorians thought up these wonderfully sentimental and romantic ideas, we will never know. But fortunately for us, Victorian jewelry was so well made that examples still exist, such as our DEAREST ring, and in this way we too can enjoy the unique craftsmanship and ingenuity of late nineteenth century or early 20th century England.
The ring is stamped 18 carat on the inside (shown in photos) and is a US size 6 and 3/4 but will definitely fit a size 7 as the band is slender. This ring can be worn everyday but is best suited for someone with a smaller hand or fingers than perhaps our ring model (myself) has! This ring would be an ideal Bat Mitzvah, Sweet 16 or quinceanera gift.
